Around Town

Welcome (Back)!

Welcome (back) to CP! Please take a moment to read the PTO's welcome letter to find out how you can volunteer to be a room parent or to  help with our community events

Whether you have a few hours to spare each year or the time to tackle a major project, the PTO needs your help. Please consider assisting with a one-off event, such as the annual Fall Fundraiser or the Halloween Parade, or taking part in a more sustained way by volunteering regularly in the library or joining the Green Team to make CP more environmentally friendly. There are many ways to help! Click here to sign up.

We look forward to an amazing school year.

New PTO Website

The PTO has a new website! Please visit to find out more about our work and learn about how you can get involved.

CP Bicibús (a bike parade to school)

The Bicibús--CP's bicycle "bus" to school--happens every Friday at 7:50 a.m., rain or shine (but not when there is snow or ice)! Join the ride anywhere along the route to get some exercise, help the environment, build community, and have fun!

El Bicibús de CP (un autobús de bicicletas a la escuela)

¡El Bicibús--un autobús de bicicletas a la escuela--se llevará a cabo todos los viernes a las 7:50 a.m., llueva o truene (pero no si hay nieve or hielo)!

Route:

  • 7:50 a.m. departure from the corner of Stanley and Fisher.
  • We go up Stanley and turn LEFT on Erdman.
  • We next turn LEFT on Franklin.
  • We next turn RIGHT on to Walnut.
  • We next turn LEFT onto Guyot and we take this and then the bike path all the way to Witherspoon.

Ruta:

If you plan to participate, please ensure that your child has a helmet, that they know how to ride, and that they understand that racing is not allowed.

Si quiere participar, asegúrese de que su hijo(a) tenga un casco, que sepa montar su bicicleta y entienda que el Bicibús no es una carrera.

A HUGE crowd of CP kids, parents, and siblings came out for the first CP Bicibús of the year on Friday, September 8! We're grateful to Sr. Blejwas for leading the way and to Forrest Meggers for bringing his bike blender and making his famous post-ride smoothies!

Fall Potluck Picnic & Mural Ribbon Cutting
Friday, September 15, 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Bring a favorite dish to share. The CP PTO will provide dessert, water & fun (including the DJ). This year's picnic is extra special, as we will celebrate the new mural! BYO blanket or chairs.

Critical Need for Volunteers: After-School Clubs & Fall Fundraiser

Please consider volunteering to help with After-School Clubs or the Fall Fundraiser at the Ivy Inn:

  • After-School Clubs: The PTO cannot run clubs without parent volunteers! The children of volunteers who help with all six club meetings may attend a club at no cost AND register ahead of the general enrollment period. If you are interested, please email Rob Freudenberg at robfreud23@gmail.com ASAP.
  • Fall Fundraiser: We need parent volunteers to help plan this casual adults-only event--our biggest fundraiser of the year! Sign up here to get involved.

Your PTO at Work: Welcome Back Luncheon

Thank you to all the parents who brought dishes, donated funds, and volunteered their time to help at our annual Welcome Back Luncheon for CP teachers and staff. Our efforts were much appreciated. As a staff member wrote:

"Your staff luncheons are one of my favorite activities because it is truly a special  treat to sit down and enjoy lunch w/building colleagues...something we rarely get to do!"

Thank You, Card My Yard!

We are grateful to Card My Yard Princeton for generously donating the sign that welcomed our students back to a new year. Thank you for helping to make the first day so special!
