Halloween Parade Pics!

Mother Nature supplied the gloom. CP students and staff brought everything else to this year's Halloween Parade. We saw witches, wraiths, jellyfish, unicorns, dinosaurs, baristas, super heros, a headless horseman, and even a windswept journalist. Thanks to all the spectators who braved the freaky weather and especially to those who helped to spookify the playground. It was a scream.

First Friday Thank You

Thanks to the parents and caregivers who stopped by CP's very first First Friday on November 1. The weather was brisk, the brew was hot, and there was much talk about the previous night's terrors: Halloween and the tornado(!?). Mark your calendar for the next First Friday on Dec. 6.

Coming Soon: Winter Clubs Registration

Winter Clubs registration is just around the corner. The new session will offer more than three dozen after school activities, including Bead Creations, Kahoot!, Yoga, and Archery. A flyer with the full menu of Winter Clubs will be posted on Konstella November 22. Registration starts at 8 p.m. on Monday, December 9.

Registration can be cut throat, so save yourself some anxiety and set up your Blue Sombrero account now. Or skip the nail-biting altogether by volunteering to assist with a club. Volunteers can pre-register their student for the club of their choice. If you may be interested, email Tina Ivanov at tina.ivanov@icloud.com

Fundraising Update: Where We're At

Thanks to everyone who has generously given their time and money toward helping the CP PTO reach this year's fundraising goal of $40,281.

We're 77% there--all because of you!

*Please help us fill the remaining party boards. The sooner we sell these slots, the clearer our budget picture will be for this year. Muchas gracias!

Annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale

Time to place that pie order. Will it be pumpkin? Pecan? Vegan sweet potato? Or one of the many other delicious pies 5th graders are selling from Randazzo's Pastry Shop? Place your order by Tuesday, November 19. Pick it up from the CP lobby either Tuesday, November 26, or Wednesday, November 27.

And if you don't eat pie, you can sweeten another's Thanksgiving Day by ordering a pie to be donated to Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). A portion of all proceeds support 5th grade activities, including the Class of 2020's gift to CP and their community service project.

No More Clipping! Box Tops Go Online

Box Tops clips are going the way of letters, dating, and shopping: online. As the physical clips are phased out, you’ll start seeing the snappy new one (below) on all of your favorite grocery store products.

Redeeming the new Box Tops is easy—just check out the instructions below. Twice a year, CP receives a check from Box Tops reflecting all of the clips our community has collected. We’ve earned over $280 this year already!

Questions? Contact Andrea Stock, andreastock31@gmail.com.

How to Redeem Box Tops Online:

  • Download the ALL-NEW Box Tops app to your phone
  • Shop as you normally do
  • Scan your store receipts to find participating products
  • The app will automatically credit CP’s Box Tops earnings online

SilverGraphics Orders Due Tomorrow

Forgot to send in your paper order form for SilverGraphics art products? You can still place orders online through tomorrow, Wednesday, November 6, and have your items shipped for free to CP. (Any online orders placed after November 6 will be shipped directly to your address for a fee.) Items ordered by the deadline will be shipped to the school and distributed to students before Thanksgiving.

If you have any questions or have misplaced your order form, please contact Tina Ivanov Tina.ivanov@icloud.com. Thank you for your support!

Community Service

Wicked & Warm

Donate your clean, gently used Halloween costumes for next year's trick-or-treaters. Drop them in the "Costume Coffin" in the CP lobby by Wednesday, November 13.

And please start collecting items for the annual Winter Clothing Drive on November 18-22. We need lightly-used coats, hats, scarves, gloves, sweaters, boots, blankets--everything to keep our community toasty this winter. A distribution event open to all will take place on Saturday,  November 23, at CP.

Las Manos Amigas*: What We're Reading

Be kind. It's a simple message but sometimes hard to follow.

Seeds and Trees, by Brandon Walden, and Kristen and Kevin Howdeshell, illustrates the importance of kindness in our community by showing the power of words to hurt or heal. Recommended for ages 6-12, it's a nice complement to Princeton Public School's district-wide kindness initiative.

*Las Manos Amigas is a weekly community-oriented activity suggested by CP PTO's Community Outreach duo, Sarah Torian and Dena Hoffman.

P.S. - We Hear You

We heard that Konstella announcements were clogging your inbox and getting you down. So in an effort to declutter your electronic life but still keep you informed about everything happening at CP, the PTO will be sending you this weekly newsletter. You will hear from us every Tuesday morning--and that's pretty much it. All of the usual announcements, sign ups, and sales, will still be available anytime on Konstella. We just won't notify you every single time a post drops. The exceptions will be calendar reminders and an occasional urgent communication, such as an imminent event change or cancellation.

If you have feedback or suggestions regarding the newsletter, please message Nicole Pezold Hancock on Konstella or email newsletter@cppto.org.

For general thoughts regarding PTO activities or how parents can further help support CP, please contact Co-Presidents Lynda Dodd, Tara Oakman, and Manishi Prasad via Konstella or at lyndagdodd@aol.com, taraoakman@gmail.com, and manishi.prasad.1974@gmail.com
