Free Music Event: Ode to the Fallen Trees by Alfonso Fuentes Colón
Thursday, March 9, 7:00 - 8:30 pm at Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium
Princeton University's Program in Latin American Studies invites the community to a special concert by Puerto Rican composer and classical and jazz pianist Alfonso Fuentes Colón. Ode to the Fallen Trees is an orchestral piece influenced by the catastrophic aftermath of hurricane María on Puerto Rico that Fuentes started writing during his summer stay at Princeton in 2018. The program will include a version of the Ode for piano and clarinet, with special guest clarinetist Oskar Espina Ruiz, and improvisations of traditional, classical, and popular musical pieces from the Caribbean and Latino traditions. This concert is free and open to the public. FREE Ticket(s) Registration link | Event Webpage

PMS Musical - Willy Wonka Jr.
Princeton Middle School proudly presents Willy Wonka, Jr., on March 9-12, 2023. Based on the classic book by Roald Dahl, Willy Wonka, Jr., tells the story of the famous candy inventor, Willy Wonka, and the chaos that ensues when he decides to open his factory gates to five lucky kids and their parents for a tour. The story follows a young boy named Charlie Bucket and his journey from poverty to winning the ultimate prize, and it is much greater than a lifetime supply of chocolate. Willy Wonka, Jr., touches on the troubles that are brought about when kids are left to be spoiled and bossy, and it also shows how you can make beautiful things with a touch of “pure imagination.” Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. For tickets and more information, please email PMSDrama@princetonk12.org.

Sustainable Princeton Recycling Program
Did you know that one cell phone thrown in a landfill can pollute 40,000 gallons of groundwater*? Sustainable Princeton can help upcycle and recycle some of your hard-to-recycle items, like cell phones and accessories, plastic film, batteries, ink cartridges, and reusable bags. Help keep these items out of the landfill. Simply drop the items off outside the Sustainable Princeton office on the second floor of 1 Monument Drive, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and we’ll take care of the rest. Feel free to stop in and learn more about Sustainable Princeton!
