This Week: First Walk & Wheel Wednesday

A PPS Initiative: Bus, Walk, or Bike to School!

Join a special bicibús OR travel to CP on your own on foot or by bike or bus!

Beginning on March 5, PPS students are encouraged to walk, "wheel," or take the bus to school on Wednesdays as part of a district-wide initiative to make the journey to school safer, reduce pollution, and have fun.

  • Students who are not yet old enough to walk or bike to school on their own must be accompanied by an adult, as they would on a regular drop-off day.
  • Bikers should wear a helmet and know how to ride.
  • If walking, biking, or taking the bus are not options for your family, consider parking in the municipal lot (400 Witherspoon Street), and walking with your student the final block to school. They will get the experience of participation and it will reduce idling in front of CP.

The PTO will kick-off Walk & Wheel Wednesdays with a celebration at drop-off on March 5. Aaron and Dixie are leading a special Wednesday bicibús--we hope you will join!
