PPS Elementary School Planning Session - Please Attend!
Thursday, April 27th at 6:30 pm (Virtual) - ZOOM Link

Please join us on April 27 at 6:30 PM on Zoom for an initial elementary school planning discussion. All parents of elementary school students are welcome to attend. We will have breakout groups for each school as part of the discussion.  Pausing proposed changes allows us to fully evaluate options, solicit community input, and make the best choices for our elementary students and families. As some of our elementary schools approach full capacity, it is time to plan for the future.

  • With new housing construction, the district anticipates increased enrollment.
  • At the April 27 meeting, the district will describe capacity challenges and options for preliminary discussion. The district will present options to discuss as our community looks at possible changes for the 2024-2025 school year and beyond.
  • We look forward to your input as we move forward with the planning process.

The principals of our four elementary schools, along with other administrators, and a representative from PREA, our teachers union, will participate in the conversation. We will share information from the planning consultants, SLAM, (formerly SLR) about new construction in the community and its anticipated effect on enrollment. Our ultimate goal is to choose, with community input and after thoughtful deliberation, the best possible solution that achieves the greatest good for our students.

Register for the Middle School Mixer for Rising 6th Graders!
Thursday, May 4, 4:30 - 6:30 pm

Dear Rising 6th Grade Parents, We are thrilled to announce the innovative social event "5th grade Mixer" will be held on May 4th in the gymnasium of Princeton Middle School for incoming Class of 2026 students! We totally understand that students may feel anxious as well as curious about the middle school environment. Therefore, we have been trying our best to bring this event to your beloved rising 6th graders as a fun start of the transition to middle school! There will be fun activities, led by PMS teachers, and delicious snacks. We simply hope that students have fun with their future classmates and friends in the environment in which they will be spending their middle school lives! Thank you for honoring the Princeton Middle School Class of 2026 by completing your pledge to attend the Mixer by April 30th. Your prompt reply will help crystallize the plans for this important experience for our students.

Register your child here by April 30th!

5th Grade Community Service Project
Saturday, April 29th, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm at Mountain Lake House

The students will assist in a stewardship project, likely either planting native plants, painting tree trunks to protect trees from beaver chew, and/or cutting back invasive plant species & vines. Come and enjoy the outdoors on a Saturday. Parent volunteers welcome, drop-offs are fine! Meet at the Mountain Lake House Parking lot, 57 Mountain Ave, Princeton NJ. Students should dress for the woods and wear clothes that can get dirty-- we recommend long sleeves, long pants, and long socks to protect from ticks, thorns, mud, and poison ivy. They should also wear hiking boots or sturdy sneakers, bring a refillable water bottle, and their own work gloves if they have them (we'll have some extras). Sign up here or email Aaron for more information at ashkuda@gmail.com!

The CP PTO Needs You! Volunteer for the different leadership positions in the PTO!

Without the hard work of busy parents like you, CP students would miss out on many fun activities (such as ART RESIDENCIES, After School Clubs, STEM day, science fair, picture day, field day, class parties, and more)! Sadly, many of our volunteers will move on as their children move up to middle school! It is time for new, fresh faces to step in and make CP what YOU want it to be! Check out the Konstella post for more information here.

Go HERE to fill out an interest form - this is not a commitment but we will contact you to check availability and where you would like to step in! There are lots of ways to offer your support!
