CP Earth Day Volunteers Needed!

CP is assisting at the Earth Day Celebration at Morven Museum & Garden on Saturday, April 20 by offering a comfy reading corner and a selection of Earth-themed books (on loan from PPL).
We need CP families (parents and kids!) to help us preside over the reading corner, keep track of books, and welcome would-be readers. CP students may also lead a "Story Time" and read aloud to younger visitors.

Volunteers may sign up for multiple shifts (10 am - 12 pm, 12 - 2 pm, 2 - 3:30 pm).

We're actively planning for next year and are calling all parents, caregivers, and teachers to reflect on what kind of volunteering you can do to help our school flourish

Click here to view the critical roles we must fill in order to continue supporting our children and staff. Several volunteers are continuing their service next year but we need YOU to fill in the ranks.

New Program to Help Families Buy Food

Summer EBT is a new federal program to help families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer.

  • Families will receive $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries during the summer.
  • Children who receive Summer EBT benefits can still participate in other summer meal programs.
  • Receiving benefits will not affect children or families’ immigration status.

In New Jersey, Summer EBT benefits will be loaded onto an EBT card and mailed to your home. If eligible, you can use the benefits to buy food like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, and dairy at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other places that accept WIC or SNAP EBT benefits. Summer EBT is a convenient way for you to help your children thrive.

If your child is not automatically eligible through SNAP, TANF or Foster Care benefits and you did not complete and return a School Meals Application to your child’s school, but believe your child may qualify:

  • You are encouraged to complete a School Meals Application and submit it to your student’s school secretary no later than April 24, 2024, to see if you qualify for the Federal Summer EBT benefits and/or Free or Reduced Price School Meals.
  • Applications can be obtained at your school’s main office or found on the district website.

If your household already completed a School Meals Application and your child was approved for Federal Free or Federal Reduced Price School Meals:

  • Your child is automatically eligible and will get the Summer EBT benefit.
  • You do not need to fill out another application.
  • Make sure the school district has your current address on file.

If you have questions, please contact Leslie Pettersen at lesliepettersen@princetonk12.org or 609-806-4204 x2015.
