Día de los Muertos Celebration
Tuesday, October 25 from 4:30 - 7:00 pm : East Pyne Lobby and Upper Hyphen
In Latin America, the Day of the Dead is a family-centered celebration, where homes and graves are prepared to honor ancestors and family who have departed and their favorite foods and drink are offered. In the United States, the holiday has also become a cultural and artistic experience, where altar exhibitions and making, processions and vigils are often accompanied by political messages to point to injustices that have caused unnecessary deaths. These events are celebrated in public and social locations rather than only cemeteries. All are welcome to bring offerings, photos of deceased family and friends, poetry, or any other thing to share. Families welcome — Children’s craft table available
Hometown Halloween Parade
Friday, October 28 at 5:15 pm starting in Palmer Square
Don your best costume for the Arts Council of Princeton’s Hometown Halloween Parade! It’s a Princeton tradition! At 5:15pm, meet us on Palmer Square Green to gather with friends and enjoy tunes by the Princeton University Band. The parade will depart promptly at 5:45pm to make its way to the Princeton Family YMCA where the festivities continue. Free and fun for all.
PMS Fall Fest
Saturday, October 29th, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
There’s something for everyone at the PMS Fall Fest! Check out the Dodge Ball Tournament, Trunk or Treat, the Cake Walk, or build a scarecrow. Stop by for food & fun
Holiday Gift Drive 2022
The holiday season will soon be upon us and Princeton Human Services would like to ask for your help in brightening a child’s Holidays. With these hard economic times during the pandemic, we understand the need is still great. Applications are received for children up to age twelve (12), which includes 1-2 gifts they would like for the holidays, which are not to exceed $75 dollars. In addition to sponsoring a child’s wish list, we are asking donors to consider donating a gift card to help the parents/families of the children during these difficult times. Go here for more information, and here to sign up to support a child and/or family. Please sign up by Friday, November 18. 2022.
