BoE Enrollment Recommendations (Traducción al español a continuación)

Last week, the Board of Education's (BoE) Long-Term Planning Committee shared with the PTO co-presidents their recommendations for addressing increasing enrollment in the District. If the recommendations are approved by the BoE on Oct. 17 (and by voters through a future referendum) the District would:

  • Build an addition onto CP to raise the school's capacity to 600 students and create "two schools" within the building: one for the DLI and one for the traditional English track
  • Establish five class sections for each grade (three traditional, two DLI)
  • Cap DLI enrollment at 44 students per grade, selecting participants via a lottery or new eligibility criteria

The Committee will also recommend adding on to the Middle School to accommodate more students. 

BoE members will present their recommendations at the following public meetings:

  • Wed., Oct. 11, 7 p.m.: Virtual presentation (Zoom link: https://princetonk12.zoom.us/j/85834997381)
  • Sat., Oct. 14, 9 a.m.: In-person event in the Princeton Middle School auditorium, 217 Walnut Ln.
  • Tues., Oct. 17, 7:30 p.m.: BoE Meeting at 25 Valley Rd., which will include the vote on plan 

Recomendaciones del BoE respecto a las registraciones 

La semana pasada, el Comité de Planeamiento a Largo Plazo (“CPLP”), dentro del BoE, compartió con los co-presidentes de la Organización de Padres (“PTO") las recomendaciones del distrito que serán votadas por el BoE el 17 de octubre, y por los votantes luego en el referendo de las elecciones generales.

Estas son:

  • Construir un anexo a CP para aumentar la capacidad a 600 estudiantes, y albergar las dos modalidades dentro de la escuela: Programa Bilingüe (DLI) y Tradicional – enseñanza de solo inglés.
  • Establecer cinco clases por grado: 3 Tradicionales y 2 DLI
  • Fijar un máximo de estudiantes de DLI en 44 por grado, seleccionando vía sorteo o criterio de selección a definir.

El CPLP también recomendó efectuar una adición a la Escuela Media para aumentar la capacidad.

El público se puede informar de las recomendaciones en las siguientes reuniones públicas:

  • Miércoles 11 de octubre, 7 p.m.: Presentación virtual (Zoom link: https://princetonk12.zoom.us/j/85834997381)
  • Sábado, 14 de octubre, 9 a.m.: Reunión en el auditorio de la Escuela Media -  Princeton Middle School, 217 Walnut Ln.
  • Martes 17 de octubre, 7:30 p.m.: Reunión del BoE, 25 Valley Rd., que incluye la VOTACIÓN DEL PLAN
