Recording of Sept. 30 Hybrid Learning Q&A with Principal Gruchacz (for K-1st Grades)
Thu, Oct 1 11:40am

Dear CP Families,

Yesterday, Principal Gruchacz presented information about the hybrid learning model for Pre-K, Kindergarten and 1st graders, which begins Monday, Oct. 5 (Cohort A), and Thursday, October 8 (Cohort B). If you were unable to attend, here's a link to the Zoom presentation, and her "Orientation" video for students. Below is also the sample schedule for hybrid learning that Principal Gruchacz shared during the presentation (your student's teacher will supply their own calendar specific to each class).

Please note: There will be schedule changes for all CP students starting Oct 5--including Grades 2-5. Although 2nd-5th grades will not begin in-person learning until Oct 12, their schedule will change next week to accommodate a new specials schedule for hybrid learning for Pre-k, K&1.
This does not mean that children in grades 2-5 will be split into cohorts for next week's lessons. This is up to each teacher how they will handle the transition to cohorts, and you may expect to hear from them if there will be changes regarding this prior to Oct. 12.

Your teachers are working tirelessly to create their schedules and deliver information packets for parents as soon as possible. Please be graceful and patient.

Together with the teachers we are compiling an email with further details on the schedule, what to expect when you drop-off and pick-up at the school, and what you can do to prepare your children for hybrid learning.

A few things to note:

1) There were a number of questions posted in the Zoom chat that will be better addressed by your student's teacher.  We have noted all questions in the chat and are communicating with teachers on this.

2) For specifics about your student's schedule, it's best to reach out to the teacher directly.  Schedules will likely vary by grade and teacher. Again they are working on the schedules right now and you should have more information by the end of the week.

3) If you have questions or comments that you would like us to communicate on your behalf, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at communityparkpto@gmail.com. We are doing our best to communicate info clearly and as quick as possible, but as you know, planning is still ongoing and protocols are being adapted constantly. We appreciate your patience but understand there is much frustration. We're happy to hear everything you have to say, good or bad, let's just keep it kind. Your input matters.

Best,
CP PTO
