Hello CP Families!

If you are interested in being a room parent for you child's classroom, please sign up here by Friday, September 5th.  We will select two parents randomly from each class to be room parents and you'll be notified by email the following week.  

What does a room parent do?

• Room parents help plan class parties, coordinate class gifts for teachers, and serve as the main points of communication  between teachers and classroom families. (You will be emailed a full job description if you are selected.)

How much time does it take?

• The time commitment varies by season and grade, but room parents usually spend less than one to three hours per month (the bulk of time is spent emailing other parents, creating sign-up sheets for party supplies/special classroom supplies, and ordering/buying supplies and gifts on behalf of the grade using funds sent through Venmo, etc. 2-3 times per year. Sometimes room parents are asked to help with a special project, like organizing a group item for the auction.).

How do I show my interest?

• Please sign up below under your child's homeroom section (Your child's homeroom teacher is listed first in the Konstella directory, and can also be found on PowerSchool). Two parents will be drawn from all interested parents in each homeroom. 

What should I do if the room parent positions if I am not selected to be a Room Parent?

• Reach out to your grade rep (visible under committees in Konstella) or get involved with the PTO in other ways! Click here to check out our committees and add your name to any volunteer roster that is of interest. Some committees--especially our fundraising committees--have few volunteers and we could really use your help! 

What if there's not an existing committee that interests me?

• Have an idea for a new committee or event? Email your suggestions to copresidents@cppto.org.
