The CP PTO is thrilled to bring back the STEM Expo and Science Fair at Community Park!

CP STEM Expo – Monday, April 25

Parents in STEM related fields, please help us put together another exciting day of learning and inspiration for our students during the CP STEM Expo. The event is designed to expose students to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math experiences that will take their everyday learning to the next level. In previous years, demonstrations have included illusions, virtual reality, augmented reality, lasers, composting, thermography, super heroes, doctors, waste management, light, oxidation, brains of flies, neural networks, and even an actual robot leg!

This parent-led event takes place during the entire school day. Volunteers present topics, demonstrations, or lead hands-on activities that last for about 15 minutes at a time as classes cycle through.

Please email Jesse Lerman ( with your interest and the topic for your proposed demo or with any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you!

CP Science Fair – Thursday, April 28. Sign-up deadline is Friday, April 22

The CP Science Fair will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 28. After a two-year hiatus, we are very excited to see what amazing discoveries our wonderful students will be presenting this year!

The CP Science Fair is not a competition, just a fun opportunity for students to work on and showcase a science topic that is exciting to them. Students present their projects to their peers and to a panel of science-minded parents. The range of topics our students have shared at previous science fairs has been super cool such as: holograms, quicksand, crystals, sound, electricity, eddy currents, photosynthesis, polymers, thin film interference, water bears, DNA, and so much more

We hope you will encourage your children to participate. It’s a low-key venue for kids to develop a feeling of confidence and pride, and it fosters in them a spirit of scientific inquiry. Students also get to practice important skills – from reading, writing, spelling and math to logical thinking, presentation, scientific methodology and public speaking. If you are stuck for a topic, endless resources such as Science Buddies are available online.

Everything you need to know is on the 2022 CP Science Fair Website including:
