Wooden storage cubbies for the 1st-3rd grade classrooms have been on the Crestwood wish list for several years. To purchase 75 solid wood cabinets, however, would cost well over $30,000. Several skilled woodworkers in the Crestwood Elementary Dads' Club have volunteered to design and build the cubbies over the upcoming year, thanks to funding from the Crestwood PTO!
The CEDC recently fabricated the parts needed to build our first batch of 25 cubby units, but we need YOUR HELP to assemble, sand, and varnish them for our kids!
CEDC is hosting a build day at school on Sunday, 5/20 from 11am-6pm. NO BUILDING EXPERIENCE NEEDED! We will need helpers of all skill levels, and we will find a job for you!
Come for any amount of time you are able! Sign up below or text Chris Beardsley at 314-239-3093 if you have any questions.
If you own any of the following tools, please feel free to bring them... Hand sanders or power sanders, cordless drills and impact drivers, small air compressors with crown staplers, work gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection.
PLEASE only bring children if they can play unsupervised on the playground. For safety, we cannot allow children in the building areas.
