DeLaveaga Elementary

The 4th and 5th Graders at DeLaveaga are being offered the opportunity to take a Creative Writing Course at the Museum of Art & History.  Registration forms are being sent home with your students today!

"The Word Lab" is an after-school writing center for public school students. Up to eighteen spots will be available and there will be three sessions offered throughout the year.  The first session runs from October 3 through December 7.

The Word Lab for DeLaveaga students will be on Tuesdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The Young Writers Program is a local non-profit working to support student writing in
grades 4-12 public school classrooms. A project of the Santa Cruz County Office of
Education, the Young Writers Program trains community volunteers to support students
and their writing. The writing is then published in beautiful books and sold at Bookshop
Santa Cruz and the Museum of Art & History. The Word Lab is the latest Young Writers
Program project, along with The Chamber of Heart & Mystery, an Imaginarium adjacent
to the Word Lab. Both are located at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History.
