Bookshop Santa Cruz is pleased to report that during its sixth annual Holiday Book Drive, customers and publishers donated over $9700 in books to local public schools. Bookshop asked the community to purchase books for local schools between Thanksgiving and New Year's and offered 20% discount off of any books donated to the drive. The drive was co-sponsored by the Good Times and the Santa Cruz Warriors, who helped boost sales by providing a fan package, including free tickets, to raffle off to one of the donors.

Santa Cruz City Schools, Pajaro Valley Unified School District and Scotts Valley Unified School District received books from this year's Holiday Book Drive.  Librarians at each school compiled a wish list of books that would update their libraries and that were in highest demand by the students.  This year's donations were the highest of any year of the Book Drive.  In total, over $40,000 in books has been donated to local schools since the inception of the Holiday Book Drive by Bookshop Santa Cruz six years ago.

Thank you for your generosity in supporting our student's love of reading. It's much appreciated.
