Dear DeLaveaga Families,

After a two year hiatus, the DeLaveaga Spring Carnival returns on Friday, May 6th from 4-8pm. The parent volunteers that make up the Carnival Committee have already put in countless hours in the planning and we can’t wait for our school to come together for this beloved event.
We understand that you might have questions, as for many families, this year will be your first experience with our school carnival. Last week, every child came home with the Carnival Season Calendar (put that baby on the fridge) and a manila envelope with two books of raffle tickets.

Below is a summary for what the calendar means and what to expect in the coming weeks:

April 14 - May 6: start selling raffle tickets! Sell them to your friends and neighbors and return the stubs and money back to school anytime before May 6th. During the Carnival, we will have a raffle booth, where we will draw the winners of the raffle. Our raffle contains dozens of prizes including gift cards and products from local businesses. All tickets are $1 each. It’s an easy and fun way to raise money for our school. If you choose to not sell raffle tickets, PLEASE return your ticket books to the office so that other families can receive them and sell more.

April 20-24: Online Auction.  Like our raffle, this fundraiser is filled with dozens of great gift cards and products donated by our generous community, including stays at the Dream Inn, The Chaminade & Hotel Paradox. Bid on the prizes you want or share the link the friends and family.  Here’s the link:

Presale for wristbands/Punch cards: Our Carnival can attract over 1200 people each year and we want families to immediately enjoy the fun, so we have pre-sale options to limit lines. The carnival is FREE to attend, but we sell wristbands and punch cards for families to enjoy the games and attractions. We accept cash, check and credit cards. Sorry, no Venmo or Apple Pay.

  • Wristbands are $15 in advance or $17 during carnival and they are for unlimited play.
  • Punch cards come in increments of $5 (equal to 10 game tokens) or $10 (equal to 20 game tokens) Carnival games are generally $.50 or $1.

CARNIVAL SHIFTS: The Carnival is 100% parent organized and run. Each classroom is responsible for staffing a booth. Your child’s teacher will let you know which booth you are assigned to and it is expected that parents sign up for a 1-hour shift. If a shift doesn’t get covered, the booth or game could close. PLEASE be sure to sign up for a shift to make the carnival a success.
