Hello SurfRider parents,

You’re invited to join our next PTA General Association meeting this Thursday after morning drop-off in the Hills Science Lab (next to the library).

The PTA will give a brief update and ask for your vote to approve the executive board officers for next year.  Then we’ll turn the meeting over to Principal Sleet and our school counselor, Shannon Jones.

Ms Jones will provide insight into the role of the school counselor and the many ways she supports our students.  To conclude, we’ll open up the meeting to parent Q&A- a great opportunity to ask Ms Jones about student mental heath, building resilience, friend drama or anything else on your mind as your SurfRider experiences the ups and downs of elementary school.

The PTA will also be giving away 3 copies each of “How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk” and “How to Raise an Adult” two parenting books Shannon recommends.  Plus coffee and breakfast snacks will be served. 

So please stop by, catch up with friends and coffee, get a school update and maybe walk away with a new book.  See you Thursday!
