Hi D39C Families!

I’m Divya Murugesan, and I am honored to serve as the Director of Student Enrichment and Volunteering. As a parent, I understand how important it is for our children to have opportunities that enrich their learning, spark their curiosity, and help them grow with confidence.

These experiences are only possible because of the amazing support of our volunteers, who bring their time, talents, and creativity to every event and activity. I am truly grateful for the spirit of giving in our community and look forward to working alongside you to create meaningful opportunities for all of our designers this year.

Call to Action

✨ We’re looking for a Student Enrichment Chair — a wonderful volunteer opportunity to help shape events and activities that inspire our children. If you’re interested, reach out to me at Divya@Design39Collaborative.org.

I hope to see you at our Student Enrichment Fair on Sept. 10.

With appreciation,

Divya Murugesan
Director of Student Enrichment & Volunteering

39 Days of Giving Update

 👉 → Donate Today!

We’ve completed 21 days, with only 19 left to go — and we’ve raised $55K with an overall participation rate of 11.51%. Isn’t our school funded by Mello-Roos or Taxes?

By week three, you may still have plenty of reasons you haven’t donated yet — or maybe you’re wondering, “Isn’t that what my taxes are for?”

A common misconception is that schools in Del Sur are funded this way, and may choose not to participate in 39 Days of Giving. Here are the facts:

  • PUSD faces a $10M deficit in 2025–26, which means less money for every school. (learn more)
  • Mello-Roos only pays for building and capital improvements. Not daily operations, such as staffing (e.g., Impact LEDs), programs (e.g., Music), or technology and supplies. (learn more)
  • Public funds are limited and slow to access, leaving gaps in daily operations and enrichment.

That’s why 39 Days of Giving matters — your support directly funds the teachers, programs, and resources that help our designers thrive. Will you join us in making a gift today?  👉 [MAKE YOUR GIFT TODAY]

👉 [DONATE MY TIME ONLY]

If a financial gift isn’t possible, consider giving your time. Every volunteer hour fills a gap that helps our designers — from classroom support to campus-wide programs.

👉 [EMPLOYER MATCH]

You can double your impact if your employer has a matching gift program.

We Celebrate
Back To Campus Nights

What a wonderful couple of evenings on campus! Parents had the chance to spend time with our LEDs, step inside their designers’ learning spaces, and see firsthand the creativity and energy that fills our campus.

We hope everyone walked away with fresh insights and inspiration for the year ahead, and got a deeper look at the learning journeys happening every day.
