Dear Community,
By now, you should have an email in your inbox from D39C, announcing a pause to the plan to utilize a makery space for a new classroom next year.
The email, in part:
After reviewing the feedback shared by families, we are making an immediate adjustment to our plans for next school year. The additional sixth-grade classroom will be located in a different space, and we will not move forward this summer with the previously communicated plan to modify a Makery and to construct new classrooms. This adjustment allows us to continue preparing for enrollment growth while creating more time and space for thoughtful conversation about how our learning environments can best support the Design39Campus experience.
To support that conversation, we will host Design Sessions to gather additional feedback. These sessions will help us better understand the concerns and ideas of our community as we work to balance enrollment needs with the learner-centered model that defines D39C.
In advance of those sessions, we are also opening a feedback form so families can share questions, concerns, and ideas. What we hear will help shape both the structure and focus of the Design Sessions. Please complete the feedback form by Tuesday, May 12.
I encourage you all to submit your feedback at the link above. We will still host a meeting Monday evening at 8:00 to listen to your feedback and questions on the current plan. https://meet.google.com/woc-knrp-qer
I am proud of this community for speaking their mind and driving change for our campus.
Thank you,
David
