Make your annual PTO Donation!

To make your annual donation, go to Konstella and click on the “Fundraising” tab (or click Here), then click on the donate button.

Duffy has been growing, and so has our annual budget. The Board recently approved a $54,000 budget for this school year. That budget includes improvements to the school grounds and classrooms not otherwise funded; events including the teacher's luncheon, Welcome Wagon, Coffee on the lawn, and 5th grade events; holiday treats for our faculty and staff and periodicals; and it allows us to provide scholarships and support our larger community. So how do we fund that budget? With your help!! We hold various fundraisers, but also are helped by Amazon Smiles contributions (remember to reallocate to Duffy each year), charitable matching, and direct donations.

We appreciate your support in all the PTO does to support our wonderful school!

National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month

National Hispanic/Latinx Heritage Month takes place between September 15th - October 15th each year since its inception in 1968. The Duffy Parent Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee is happy to share some resources for your family to learn more about this important time together. More information can be found Here.

Whether you want to help or want to learn or both, don't hesitate to reach out to Tracy Wu Fastenberg (tfastenberg@gmail.com) or join the Committee via Konstella!

New! Parents Night Out - Raffle Basket Collection

As part of our Parents Night Out fundraiser, the PTO will be putting together raffle baskets, and we need your help filling them!  This year's raffle basket themes are.....drumroll..... Lego, Pokemon, Harry Potter, and Arts & Crafts!

Like last year, we are requesting donations of items only (save your money to buy raffle tickets in a few weeks!) that relate to one of the above mentioned themes. Donated items can be placed in the labeled box in the Duffy Office, or delivered directly to Steph Monteith (71 Newport Avenue) or Andrea DiMaria (98 Mountain Terrace Rd) and placed in bins outside of their house by Friday, October 14th.

Thank you for supporting the Duffy PTO!

Volunteer shout out! Many hands make light work. Thank you to all the wonderful volunteers that helped make the Welcome Wagon dinner and Welcome Back Sweets Social a success! Thank you to Sarah Dolan, Dawn Gagliardi, and Kim Molinaro for organizing the event. Thank you to Julie Kopec, Jess Keating, Brad Normand, Neal Spencer, Paige Joseph, Katie Maron, Kelly Ferenc, Laura Moran, Brooke Mannington, Michelle Ahmed, Christina Gilliam for volunteering their time and thank you to the many more who donated sides. You showed up after the rainy day willing to jump in and help! (And thank you to the West Hartford Fire Department for bringing a little extra excitement after a false alarm.)

Committee spotlight: This week we shine the spotlight on the Duffy Garden Committee. Thanks to Faydra Seigrist and Marcia Lawlor, the garden has continued to be an asset to our school community. This committee has quietly worked over the years to make our Duffy Garden grow. Marcia Lawlor recently spearheaded the refurbishment of the sandbox and we look forward to many other improvements to come this year.
