Please check the Duffy calendar for a complete list of activities.

New!  Share the JOY of reading!

It’s almost December! Have you started thinking “out with the old and in with the new?” If you have gently used books in your home that your family is ready to pass along, consider sending them to Duffy for our book drive!

Gently Used Children’s Book Drive: Monday, December 5th- Friday, December 9th

A collection box for donations will be located in the main lobby.

It’s our Get a Book, Give a Book yearly celebration! During the week of December 19th, all Duffy Dragons will have the opportunity to visit our Winter Wonderland Bookstore to pick out a gently used book for winter break reading as well as choose one to wrap and bring home to give as a gift for a sibling, neighbor, friend, relative, etc. Our “bookstore” is stocked with your donations. Please consider cleaning out your bookshelves at home during the next few weeks. Thank you!

Duffy Book Fair

Volunteer to Help Duffy’s Scholastic Book Fair, Nov 28th- December 2nd
It takes many volunteers to make this wonderful event happen. Book fair hours are Monday- Friday during the school day and Family Night will take place Tuesday 5-7pm. Please sign up on Konstella.  Questions, email colleenojo@gmail.com

Hartford Wolf Pack Game

If your choir member is interested in singing the National Anthem for the Wolfpack game on December 10th, please be sure to purchase a ticket using this link. The website currently shows that Duffy's tickets are sold out but our PTO is working to add more. Please check the link early next week for more tickets.

The Wolf Pack is having a Teddy Bear Toss at the game. Families are encouraged to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal to throw out on the ice after the Wolf Pack scores its first goal of the night to benefit charity. More info can be found here.

Holiday Helpers

Each year the Duffy Service Projects committee assists local families during the holidays by filling children’s wish lists. If you are interested in helping this year, please email Shannon Pecorelli for more information on how you can assist.   (Link to my email address: shannonpecorelli@gmail.com)

Family to Family Connections

The PTO would like to further our efforts to enhance the experience of all families at Duffy. This year we are starting an initiative to encourage connections between our parents and caregivers. Are you part of a veteran Duffy family who knows where to find information and how to engage your child(ren) in community events, and who is willing to be a resource to others? Are you part of a newer Duffy family who has gotten lost in all the emails about curriculum, online apps, fundraisers, and events? If you would like to be connected to other Duffy families, whether it be to have a person to go to with questions or an opportunity to grab coffee with someone you might not meet otherwise, please respond to Liz Normand at duffypto@gmail.com and let us know. You can simply say, "I'm interested!" or you can give more information on what you would hope to get out of this initiative. We are looking for additional "veteran" families to be a part of this!
