New! Show your love for Nurse Addamo
Our school nurse is busy, especially in the winter, taking care of our Dragons when they don't feel well.  This is a great time to return some of the care she gives out every day. The PTO invites you to make a paper heart with a note or picture to express our gratitude, similar to what we did for Nurse Evjen last year, and send it to school this Thursday, February 16 and we'll use them to create a collage on her door.

New!  Souper Bowl Food Drive  -  (Chiefs 517 - Eagles 483)

The Duffy Community is amazing!!! Duffy Dragons brought in 1,000 of non-perishable food, paper goods, basic clothing items, and toiletries for the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee’s Souper Bowl Food Drive!!! Dragons are favoring the Chiefs to win by just a smidge, with those rooting for the Eagles coming in close—517 items to 483! We are so pleased that these will go to support a regional organization with Duffy ties, House of Bread (check out the picture Duffy alum, Tom Porell, Operations Manager at HoB!). These donations will not only be distributed to families to bring to their own homes, but will also be prepared by volunteers to give community members a hot meal while they explore support services, and ensure that other school aged children reduce their food insecurity through a partnership that HoB has with Hartford Public Schools.

If you would like to continue the discussion around food insecurity with your family, we welcome you to explore our resources together. If you or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity, there are many resources for support, including through the Town of West Hartford.

Thank you all for being a wonderfully giving and caring community! A special shout out to the adult family volunteers who helped make this possible as well as student leaders who did the hard work of tallying up the score!

If you want to help or want to learn, we welcome you. Join the committee via Konstella or email one of the chairs: Tracy Wu FastenbergFrancesca Knerr, or Kristin Churila.
