We encourage you to join this event happening tomorrow

Breaking the Stigma: Demystifying Mental Health for Diverse Families

Monday, May 8th, 6:30 - 8pm. This event, planned by the Townwide EDI Collaborative including one of our Duffy parents, includes a presentation by Dr. Melissa Santos from Connecticut Children's Medical Center (see attached flier for more!), Q&A and Panel Discussion with WHPS school counselors and school psychologists. Learn how to identify and select the best mental health provider for your child, explore connections between mental health & identities to better understand your child's experiences, actively engage with your child's school to foster a supportive partnership for their mental well-being, and assess and address your child's unique needs to enhance their mental health support.

In partnership with West Hartford Community of Concern.

New! With the wonderful support of our Duffy community, the Read-a-thon was a huge success.  Over 26,800 minutes of reading were tracked and $20,500 raised for our school.  That is incredible!  All proceeds are going towards reading celebrations and a Fifth Grade Events Fund for all students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

It’s time to celebrate!  Monday, May 8th our Duffy Dragons will celebrate their awesome reading with the Double Dare Bounce Obstacle Course.  Get ready to bounce and have fun!

New! PTO Meeting

The May PTO Meeting will be held on Monday, May 8 at 7pm. This will be held virtually only. We hope you will join us to listen in, voice your thoughts, or consider how you might choose to participate next year. Join using this link.

Attending the Yard Goats game together has become a wonderful Duffy tradition. Thank you to Lisa Scoma along with Karen Sills and Carla Corcoran for tirelessly coordinating with the Yard Goats and the PTO to reserve 760 seats and make this evening happen! And thank you to Mrs. Tierney for leading the choir in a lovely rendition of the National Anthem!

A huge shoutout to Ashley Whitney and Marcia Lawlor for stepping up to organize the first Duffy dance since 2019! From decorations to coordinating volunteers, you guys knocked it out of the park and the kids had a blast!
