It takes a village to make all of these events successful, and we’re so grateful for the time and energy you give. Whether you have a little time or a lot, there are opportunities to fit every schedule and level of involvement. Take a look below and see where you’d like to help!
🌟 PTO Executive Board
Member at Large
A great way to get involved and stay connected to the PTO without committing to a specific role. Members at Large are included in PTO Board communications on Konstella, help with events and projects as needed, and gain insight into how different roles and committees work, making this a natural stepping stone into a future PTO position.
Recording Secretary Chair
Responsible for taking notes at PTO meetings and keeping meeting minutes and records organized. This role posts PTO meeting agendas and minutes on Konstella and helps ensure clear communication and continuity for the Board and the broader school community.

🌍 Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee
In past years, the EDI Committee has organized the annual Souper Bowl Food Drive, a trip to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum, guest speakers, and Family Game Night.
By planning and developing events, the committee creates opportunities for our community to learn, celebrate, and connect in ways that broaden perspectives and foster inclusion.
For the 2026-2027 school year, we’re excited to welcome back past participants (sign up here) and also invite new members to join us.
🍂 Fall 2026 Events Committee
Help us welcome families back and start the school year strong! This committee supports our first Duffy events of the year, including the First Day of School, Welcome Wagon, and Curriculum Night. Sign up to help with planning, setup, greeting families, or lending a hand the day of.
💐 Staff & Teacher Appreciation
Let’s come together to give our teachers and staff the recognition they deserve!
This committee helps create fun and meaningful ways to celebrate and thank the amazing people who support our kids every day.
Events include Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Parent-Teacher Conference meals/treats, Teacher Appreciation Week in May 2027, the annual Holiday Gift Cart in December, and other staff recognition efforts throughout the school year.
You can help with as many events as you’d like — every bit of help makes a difference.

🌱 Duffy Garden Committee
We have made great progress beautifying our school grounds, and we want to keep that momentum going into the fall season!
In past years, the Garden Committee has helped organize seasonal clean-ups, planting days, and special garden projects that bring our community together and make Duffy’s outdoor spaces more welcoming for students, staff, and families.
