We all love our Duffy community and the things it has to offer...from family events like Bingo Night and the Duffy Fair to Teacher Appreciation Week and the Duffy Garden. All of these amazing things wouldn't be possible without the help of our amazing volunteers! Please take a look at the opportunities below and consider donating your time.
Please note - we have opportunities that can be done from home, are for a limited time commitment and are only during specific times of the year.

Volunteer Coordinator (PTO Board) Signed Up: 1 / 2Critical Need for 2022-23!
We’re looking for 2 volunteer coordinators to recruit and organize helpers for PTO committees and events and to help parents find the best way to plug in to our school community. TEACHER LUNCHEON (Staff Appreciation) Signed Up: 1 / 5Help plan and execute a lunch for the teachers during their first week back to school, before the kids come back!

CONFERENCE WEEKS (Staff Appreciation) Signed Up: 3 / 5Help plan, collect or deliver snacks and meals for our teachers during Conference Week, taking place in November & March. Most of the planning is done from home - volunteers deliver donated food to the school and set up / break down the Staff Room.

Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week (Staff Appreciation) Signed Up: 3 / 5Help plan and organize refreshments and gifts for staff during Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week in May. Most of the planning is done from home - volunteers drop off donated items to the school, and set up Staff Room as needed.

Holiday Coffee Cart (Staff Appreciation) Signed Up: 6 / 6Help spread holiday cheer for our teachers! Have holiday cards made and stuff envelopes with gift cards. Arrange for food, coffee and hot cocoa. Help roll the cart around from classroom to classroom to distribute.

Welcome Wagon (Family Events) Signed Up: 1 / 5Arrange pizza and snacks for dinner for Kindergarten and other new Duffy families, typically the first week of September. Possible dates for 2022 are Sept 8 or Sept 22.

Wolfpack Game (Family Events) Signed Up: 1 / 3Volunteers needed to secure group tickets to the game, communicate on how to purchase tickets, then sort tickets so they can be given to Duffy families. Most of this is done from home, and game usually takes place in December.

Farmer's Markets (Family Events) Signed Up: 2 / 5Help plan and organize the Duffy Farmers Markets through partnership with Growing Great Schools. Coordinate order and delivery of produce and work with student volunteers to assist with planning and participation in the Farmer's Market. Event typically takes place in both Fall and Spring.

Bingo Night (Family Events) Signed Up: 1 / 5Whether this is virtual or in person this year, we need volunteers to plan and execute our Bingo Night! Pick the date, communicate to families, get prizes and facilitate the evening. Bingo typically takes place in winter, usually January/February timeframe.

Yard Goats Game (Family Events) Signed Up: 3 / 3Volunteers needed to secure group tickets to the game, communicate on how to purchase tickets, then sort tickets so they can be given to Duffy families. Most of this is done from home, and game usually takes place in May.

Duffy Fair (Family Events) Signed Up: 9 / 25Help plan and organize the Duffy Fair held in June. Plan activities and music for the event as well as secure food options and supplies. Acquire any permits needed from the town.

Field Day (Family Events) Signed Up: 20 / 20Help PE teacher with set up and take down on field days and assist as needed. This event is held during school hours, typically in June.

Harvest Hunt (family Events) Signed Up: 5 / 5This event was new to Duffy last year! It was designed for simplicity and easy implementation--it's a "One Bin" set up and the organization has already been done.
The Harvest Hunt committee will pick a date with Mrs. Laverty, order prizes for the kids, and help set up and take down on Harvest Hunt day(s) and assist as needed. This event is held during school hours, typically in October.

Kindergarten Registration (School Service) Signed Up: 3 / 10Provide assistance to school administration during the Spring Kindergarten Registration process. Attend screening days, hand out materials, and organize refreshments.

Spiritwear (Fundraising) Signed Up: 5 / 5Help plan and organize the Duffy clothing sale in the fall and spring. Pick styles to be offered, communicate to families on how to order, and facilitate the delivery of orders.

Parent's Night Out Committee (Fundraising) Signed Up: 3 / 20Help plan and organize the annual Parent's Night Out which will likely include a virtual auction on Auctria and an in-person happy hour at a local brewery.

5th Grade Class Day (5th Grade Events) Signed Up: 0 / 0Help plan Class Day in June. Coordinate needs with janitorial staff, arrange for cake, snacks and beverages.

5th Grade Class Gift (5th Grade Events) Signed Up: 0 / 0Work with 5th Grade Events Coordinators to choose, order, purchase and distribute student gifts as well as any class gift to Duffy at the end of the school year.

5th Grade Fun Day (5th Grade Events) Signed Up: 0 / 0Secure an off-site venue as well as plan and coordinate food and beverages for Fun Day in the spring.

5th Grade Slideshow (5th Grade Events) Signed Up: 0 / 0Develop and produce slide show for Class Day in June highlighting students' years at Duffy and present at Class Day assembly in auditorium.

5th Grade Yearbook (5th Grade Events) Signed Up: 0 / 0Manage collection of photographs and development of the Duffy 5th Grade yearbook

Duffy Graden & Beautification (Grounds Improvement) Signed Up: 15 / 20Maintain and beautify garden, outdoor classroom area and front of school grounds. This is an ongoing opportunity that can be done in your free time, and have your kids join in!
