Duniway's own kinder parent and PTA Advocacy Committee member, Laura Labarre, was inspired by our April 23rd lobby day meeting with Representative Mark Gamba (House District 41) to do more.  Over the past few weeks, she coauthored an op-ed with Rep. Gamba about his bill (HB3659) to reform Oregon's Kicker this legislative session.  With looming federal cuts to Oregon, passage of HB3659 will open up state dollars for many of the services and supports we all need - including public education.  

Please take a moment to read this short, insightful and impactful op-ed published in the Portland Tribune Fellow Oregonians, it is time we had a serious talk about the kicker

We know this is a really busy time with the school year wrapping up, so we know one more thing is a big ask.  However, if you support kicker reform, please take a few moments to:

- Contact your lawmakers to 1) send them this op-ed to let them know you support Representative Gamba's bill (HB 3659) 2) ask them to bring HB 3659 to the floor for a vote, and 3) tell them you support kicker reform and want this bill passed.

- Amplify this op-ed to your community and encourage them to contact their lawmakers.
