With a little over two weeks until our May 13th PTA meeting where we’ll elect the new officers for the ’25-’26 school year, I’d like to offer one last plug for what is obviously the *best* PTA position of all: Secretary.
This is a great role for you if you:
- Take good notes (you know who you are)
- Like to be organized
- Want to get involved in the school community
- Like to do things behind-the-scenes
- Want an important role that doesn’t come with a ton of responsibility
As Secretary, you really only have two responsibilities: 1.) Attend meetings. 2.) Take notes. That’s it! Anyone can do it! (But only YOU can do it the best.)
I’m happy to talk more about this with anyone interested. I’m wrapping up my third year in this position, but we changed the term limits this year and you won’t serve that long. You’ll serve a maximum of two years, but you only need to commit to one. Board meetings are once a month (usually over Zoom or at a wine bar) and general meetings are every other month in the school library. Huge thank you to whoever ends up stepping up to take over this position.
