There have been several energetic conversations around Duniway this month about current class sizes, PPS budget reductions, and projections for the 2025-2026 school year. It is clear our community is passionate about Duniway’s future and eager to advocate for the resources our kids, staff, and teachers deserve!

Enrollment plays a vital role in determining resources and funding for our school. Encouraging enrollment this spring means improved planning for classroom teacher positions, school support positions, and our beloved specialists. 

Despite the challenges faced, the Duniway community continues to celebrate small and big things about our neighborhood school. Let’s push a hype campaign together!

Recapping a few actions that have been highlighted during recent school/community meetings: 

• If you have new kids enrolling into Duniway for kindergarten or first grade, do so now!

• Talk with your friends, neighbors, and social circles about the magic of Duniway, and encourage them to enroll now, too!

• Write a Duniway love note for the next Connect to Kinder event while you're shopping the book fair!

This week during the Book Fair, there will be a table with postcards set up to write Duniway love notes. Come by the Duniway Library to write your message saying, “I love Duniway because….” We will be pasting them up on the wall for our prospective families to view at the Connect to Kinder events.
