We’re excited to bring Girls on the Run back to Duniway this year, and we need coaches to make it happen!
We are looking for at least two volunteer coaches from our community. If you or someone you know may be interested, please apply here by February 18th. If you have questions about being a volunteer coach, contact Girls on the Run Program Manager, Allie Wieland (programs@gotroregon.org).
Girls on the Run offers a proven, after-school program that supports both the physical and mental well-being of 3rd to 5th grade girls. But it’s not just about running – it’s about building confidence, teaching life skills, and encouraging girls to embrace their inner strength.
During the 8-week program, the research-backed curriculum focuses on:
● Unlocking Potential: Girls practice setting and achieving goals.
● Forming Friendships: Girls develop positive relationships through teamwork.
● Managing Emotions: Girls gain tools to navigate life’s challenges.
● Helping others: Girls learn to stand up for themselves and others.
Girls on the Run provides all of the training, curriculum, materials, and support to make the season a success - no athletic experience required!
