Dear Duniway Community,
My name is Beth Kracum, and I’m a parent of a kindergartner and a first grader at Duniway. I am starting a non-profit, public children’s garden in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood, and I could really use your help in demonstrating community interest in this project!
The Portland Children’s Garden will be a welcoming, accessible outdoor where children can play, learn, and connect with nature. We will have a mix of garden features (pollinator beds, vegetable beds, fruit trees) and play features (mud kitchen, willow tunnel, lookout tower). We will offer educational programming and open exploration hours.
If this sounds like something that would benefit the children and families of Portland, please consider taking our brief community interest survey and passing along the link to other friends in the area!
We think that our kids need more safe, dedicated green spaces and places to be their curious, wild selves, but we need to hear from you to show grant funders and donors that there is demand for a children’s garden!
