What Measure 118 (Oregon Rebates) Gets Wrong for Public School Funding

Hello Duniway Community!

The Duniway Advocacy Committee (DAC) is hard at work to bring you information to support and represent Duniway at a local, district and State level.

Now that election season is upon us, we wanted to share information regarding a significant impact to Oregon Public School funding in our upcoming election.

While well intended to support Oregonians, Measure 118 (Oregon Rebate) has the unintended negative impact of reducing funds available to the Oregon General Fund (in Oregon, public schools are funded through the State's General Fund).  This would occur due to driving some revenue from the corporate minimum tax to the Oregon Rebate and away from the General Fund.  As the corporate minimum tax is the second largest source of funding for the General Fund, this would be a significant negative impact to the General Fund and in turn, a negative impact to an already struggling public school funding situation.

The Oregon PTA is officially opposed to Measure 118.  Please support our public schools and vote NO on Measure 118.
