Duniway's PTA Bike Bus is a volunteer led committee that supports building biking confidence, resilience, strong bodies, minds and safe riding practices; instilling a climate friendly mindset; strengthening community connections and just enjoying the pure love of cycling through weekly rides.
The operations of Duniway's Bike Bus depends on community and school support and the strength of its volunteers. We welcome volunteers with a passion for supporting our children as they build skills for life.

This position coordinates connector corkers, essential connector communications and trains corkers in bike bus traffic safety management. This Connector Lead communicates and coordinates with the Eastmoreland Corking Team Lead.

Bike Bus Eastmoreland Corking Team Signed Up: 6 / 9Bike Bus Corkers volunteer on weekly rides to manage the traffic flow along the bus route and support safe riding conditions. Corkers are assigned regular corking positions along the route and the Corking Team works collaboratively on managing weekly safety coverage. Corkers are trained in bike bus traffic safety management and may regularly be assigned more than one intersection for corking.

Bike Bus Corking Team Back-Up Signed Up: 3 / 4Bike Bus Corker Back-Up position is a member of the Corking Team. This position provides back-up corking support for short or long term vacancy.
Bike Bus Corkers volunteer on weekly rides to manage the traffic flow along the bus route and support safe riding conditions. Corkers are assigned regular corking positions along the route and are trained in Bike Bus traffic safety management.

Bike Bus Communications Lead Signed Up: 1 / 1The Communications Lead develops and posts Bike Bus messaging through Duniway Elementary and neighborhood community messaging tools (i.e., Konstella, newsletter, neighborhood associations, etc.) to infom the community about weekly rides and special events. Communications focus on community connection and relationship building.

Bike Bus Special Ride and Events Lead Signed Up: 1 / 1Coordinates and plans special annual rides and events. Works closely with Captain/Co-Captain, Communications Lead and Duniway leadership. Past special rides included, Dillon T. Pickle, Hot Chocolate Ride, Ruby Bridges, Winter and Spring Walk and Roll, Earth Day Ride.

Bike Bus Video Content Creator Leads Signed Up: 1 / 2The Bike Bus Video Content Creators shoot weekly ride video content for monthly visual communication posts (i.e., social media). Content is collected on weekly rides. This position works closely with the Social Media Lead.
