Dear Earhart Families,
We’re excited to invite you to participate in our Earhart Bag Tag Recycling Challenge, happening April 20–24. Start collecting your bag tags now!
Each year, Earhart Elementary raises awareness about single-use plastics through this fun and simple, school-wide effort. Over the past three years, we’ve successfully collected 3 pounds of plastic bread/bag tags—this year, we’re aiming even higher with a goal of 4 pounds. Can we do it, Earhart?
Bag tags are a common form of single-use plastic, and reducing them helps limit microplastics in our environment. Some countries, like Canada and Australia, are already using alternatives such as cardboard tags. Small actions like this can lead to meaningful change in our community.
Students can drop off collected bag tags at the designated tables located at the school entrance each day during the challenge week. After all tags are weighed, if we meet our goal, we’ll celebrate with a special morning event featuring bubbles, music, and fun giveaways in honor of Earth Month!
If you have questions or would like to volunteer for this event, please email garden@earhartpta.org.
Thank you for helping Earhart make a difference—one bag tag at a time! 🌎
