2021 Coastal Cleanup - Edison and Scout Pack 1015 Partnership
Sat, Sep 18 10:00am-12:00pm
Edison Elementary
1 day before, 2 days before
Join the Edison and local Scout Pack 1015 communities for our annual Coastal Cleanup on Saturday at the Encinal Boat Ramp behind Encinal High School at 10am
The Ocean Conservancy recommends bringing your own used bucket, reusable bags, kitchen tongs and reusable gloves; the more we can use reusable items the less trash we create cleaning up the trash! Wear shoes that are good for rock scrambling, dress for the weather, Otter Wear if you have it, and consider a beach play date since you're there.
If at all possible, please take any trash you find home with you and dispose of it in your home trash so we don't overwhelm the public trash receptacles.
If you can't make it out for the coastal cleanup on Saturday, you can still participate on your own anytime. There's even an app so you can add your trash to the global tally:
  • The CleanSwell App
Download before you go to log data on your phone during the cleanup
  • If you can't use the app, download and print a data card in English or Spanish. Mail your completed card to the address on the card.
The Encinal Boat Ramp is at: 190 Central Ave in Alameda. Here's a link on Google Maps:
If you find something weird, interesting, or funny during your cleanup, take a picture and enter the Most Unusual Item Contest for a chance to win a prize package.
Here's to doing our part to keep our river and sea otters safe!
