Our annual Read-A-Thon kicks off tomorrow on Tuesday, September 30th and runs through Wednesday, October 15th! This year’s theme is “Under the Sea: Dive into Reading!” 

During this two-week PTA-sponsored event, students will focus on reading while raising money for important school programs. Packets with more information went home with students today and more details are available at https://edisonreadathon.pledgestar.com/.

The most important thing you can do today is set up a Pledgestar account for your student. This is where your student can track their reading minutes and request donations to help raise money for Edison. Students can also use the paper tracker to record their reading minutes and participate in the bonus challenges. Students can earn fun prizes by meeting their reading goals and raising donations!

Throughout the Read-a-Thon, we’ll have a series of events to help support our students’ reading and the Edison community. Dates are below – please check the Konstella calendar for more details:

• Oct 3: Author Assembly with local author Wahab Algarmi

• Oct 3 6-8 pm: Treat & Donate at Tucker’s 

• Oct 6-Oct 10: Go Green Book Swap

• Oct 15: Dine & Donate at Tomatina 

• Oct 15 5-8 pm: Shop & Donate at Books Inc. 

The Read-A-Thon is our only student-led fundraiser, and it is the best time for your students to ask for donations from neighbors, friends and families near and far to support the school.
