Earth Day is April 22, and Edison is celebrating with school wide events, student-led lessons, and hands-on activities April 20-May 1. Highlights include:
- April 21, 23, & 27: Makers' Workshop (K-2) & Materials pickup (3-5) - Room 2 at lunch. Encourage your students to collect supplies for the Trashion Fashion Show and Garbage Car Race!
- April 22-24: Otterwear Swap - Table in breezeway. Drop off your gently used Edison Otter shirts and "shop" for new items.
- Fri., May 1, 12:45 pm: Trashion Fashion Show - Start with an old t-shirt and turn it into haute couture using trash and upcycled items! Families are welcome to come cheer for the "models" as they parade through the courtyard.
- Thurs., April 30, 11:45 pm: Garbage Car Races - Engineer a speedster out of pieces bound for the gray or blue bin. Families are welcome to attend the race. See rules and tips here.
- All week: Presentations by the Green Otters club, and lots of volunteer opportunities!
- Recycle/reuse cart: Bring your recycling items all week before school.
- We need wheels for garbage cars! Please bring jar lids, tuna cans, etc., to the Reuse Cart April 20-24.
- No shoe drive this spring, unfortunately. We're exploring sneaker recycling options for the fall--stay tuned!
