YOUR KID LOVES THE EDISON GARDEN AND WE NEED PARENT VOLUNTEERS!

Please consider volunteering in the Edison Garden during the lunch recess.  It is roughly one hour of volunteering and makes the kids so so happy!  You can do it once a year, once a month or once a week. It is up to you.

Every time we open the Garden during recess, we are inundated with kids.  Some love to just sit at the tables under the umbrellas and color or read a book.  Kids love small projects like weeding and watering.  Kids like to pick apples, green beans, chives, figs, strawberries or whatever is ripe.

Without parent volunteers to open the garden at recess, our kids only get to visit the garden for 30 minutes once a month for the Garden Science class.

What it entails:

• complete the volunteer forms and livescan
• Sign up for a day that works for you. We must have at minimum 2 volunteers to open the garden so the kids are properly supervised -  you can use the Konstella group to find another parent to join you. Recess is from 11:40-12:20 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. 
• Day of: sign in as a volunteer in the office
• Set up by opening umbrellas and pulling out supplies like coloring pages, markers, watering cans. Put things away at the end of recess.
• Supervise the weeding and harvesting
• Have fun and make your kid happy
