March 15 Return to Campus for Flexible Program Students
Thu, Feb 25 12:19pm
We are thrilled that a tentative MOU is in place that will allow our Edison students in the flexible program to return to campus on March 15. We anticipate that more information will come soon from the district and our school about reopening protocols but in the meantime, here are a few things to keep in mind:
  • Schedule: The approved reopening schedule is attached here.  Our understanding is that the more families that sign up for on campus learning in the flexible program, the greater likelihood the district can increase the in-person hours later on.
  • COVID Testing: Please get your student COVID tested this weekend at Alameda High! It is a low nasal swab test (not the brain scraper test that most of us have experienced), takes less than a minute, and kids get stickers. The more students who go through the process now, the more seamless it will be going forward.
  • PTA supports: PTA is working on a number of projects to help with reopening, including walking school buses, supporting the school's need for outdoor and indoor classroom supplies, and getting reopening information out to all parents. More to come on this.
  • Town Hall meeting: There is a tentatively scheduled March 10 Edison town hall event on reopening. Please mark your calendars. And please join us at tonight's Reopening with Empathy meeting at 7:30 pm to start the conversation about returning to campus.
We look forward to seeing many of our Otters on campus soon!
