Dear Edison Otters,
Happy December! We are just a few weeks away from winter break and there is so much going on at Edison this month.
1) Please join us in welcoming Jennifer Trevis - our new Garden Instructor - starting this month at Edison! Jennifer also currently teaches kids as part of her role with the Alameda County Resource Conservation District. She has a lot of enthusiasm for teaching and many interests around the garden, bugs and critters, and so much more. We are delighted that she's here. Thank you to parents for making it possible for us to have Jennifer offer this amazing science curriculum to our kids! And thanks to the Garden Committee for coordinating her work!
2) We are thrilled to be hosting our Multicultural Night Dinner on the new and improved date of December 20. Come celebrate the many cultures at Edison. There will be music, Chinese cultural dance, Island Dance, student art that embraces diversity, henna, a photo booth, a community service activity and more! It will be a night full of good food, fun experiences and our great Edison families. RSVP and sign up to bring a dish on Konstella. Thanks to the Diversity and Inclusion Committee for coordinating!
3) On Thursday, December 13, our PTA meeting will feature a presentation from Principal Michael Hans of Lincoln Middle School and a presentation on how PBIS is being implemented at Edison. PBIS is the foundation of our behavioral expectations at Edison. Plus there will be delicious snacks and free babysitting. Join us!
4) Finally, we are so proud of the Edison Otters who are contributing to our Camp Fire Donation Drive - we are accepting cash and gift cards for schools in Butte County and it is amazing to see our kids and families come together to help our neighbors in need. Thank you to all of our families for your support, and thank you to the Community Service Committee for coordinating!
We are so excited about these events, but most of all, we are excited for all of these opportunities for our Edison families to celebrate, learn, and serve together. Please join us and help us build the kind of warm, inclusive community we all want for our children.
