Let's help keep our kiddos stay safe!
Please consider signing up for for morning shifts as an Edison Pedestrian Safety Volunteer.
Our goal is to minimize congestion in the loading zone along Pearl Street, keep traffic flowing smoothly, and ultimately improve overall pedestrian safety for our Edison community.
No prior training is required. New signage has also been ordered to help facilitate safety efforts. Shift duties include the following:
1) Sign in at the front office at 8 a.m. and grab your orange vest and the sidewalk signage. Sandwich sign is tucked behind the same desk where the the vests are located. The sign will need to be brought back to the office after your shift (light and easy to carry).
2) Arrive at the Pearl Street gate for your shift. 8:05-8:20 a.m.
3) Direct drivers to exit loading zones in a timely manner after unloading children from their vehicles.
If you'd like to get involved with future conversations around campus safety at Edison, please consider signing up as a member of our newly-formed Safety Committee on Konstella.
Feel free to contact Eva Spirakis with any concerns, questions or suggestions.
Warmly,
Eva Spirakis
