Edison’s Annual Read-A-Thon: “Wild about Reading” - Ongoing through Friday, October 19th.

 

Parents! Your student(s) have been sent home with their Read-A-Thon packet today. The packet contains their Read-A-Thon booklet that they will need to complete and return to their teacher before Oct. 19th.

 

This is an amazing opportunity for all of our students to get involved in raising money for Edison while developing a love for books!  This is our only student-led fundraiser, and the best time for your kids to ask for donations from friends, family, and neighbors. Students set a daily reading goal for the two-week period.  All time spent reading outside of school counts - whether your child is reading or being read to. Students share their reading goal with family, friends, and neighbors, and ask for a flat donation to support their efforts!  Each student should try to raise at least $50 or ask 10 people for donations. All donations are tax deductible. And as an incentive, there will be fun prizes for students who read the most and raise the most money! IMPT NOTE: Please keep the reading log/board in the envelope your student(s) went home with on Monday, Oct. 1st. You will need to return the completed reading log/board with all donations (cash and checks) in the envelope no later than Friday, Oct. 19th.

 

- Dine and Donate Night at Tomatina and Books, Inc. Night - Tuesday, October 2nd, 5:00 - 9:00 PM.

 

Purchase a book or two for your child(ren) so they can read them for the Read-A-Thon at our Books, Inc. night AND earn money for Edison! Be sure to head next door for dinner at Tomatina and earn more money for Edison!
