Dust off your lab coats and polish your safety glasses: the Edison Elementary Science & Engineering Fair is coming next month!
đź“… Wednesday, April 8, 2026
⏰ 6:00–7:30 PM
📍 Edison Elementary Multi-Purpose Room
This is a fun opportunity for students to explore questions, build creative solutions, and share what they discover with the Edison community.
👉 Visit the Science Fair Website: https://edisonpta.org/sciencefair
This year we have a website where students and families can find everything they need, including:
• Project registration
• Event timeline and important dates
• Step-by-step guidance for projects
• Rules and safety guidelines
• Examples of project boards
• Links to project ideas and inspiration
How to Participate
Grades K-2
K-2 students will participate through classroom science or engineering projects, coordinated with teachers and led by parent volunteers. These projects will be completed during class time and displayed at the Fair. K-2 can submit additional projects individually, with a partner, or in groups of up to three students if they wish. (fun fact: K-2 took part in over 40% of last year’s projects!)
Grades 3 – 5
There will be no class-wide projects, so students are invited to create their own science or engineering projects individually, with a partner, or in groups of up to three students. Again, grades K-2 can also do the same!
Projects will primarily be completed outside of class, with optional support available at school.
👉 Register your project early!
Projects should be registered (1 registration per project/group) before March 27 through the website.
Registration helps us plan display space and prepare project boards.
Project help sessions
Students who would like guidance on their projects can attend help sessions in Room 18 (Ms. Navarro’s class) during lunch recess (11:45 AM):
• Tuesday, March 17
• Tuesday, March 24
• Tuesday, March 31
Ms. Navarro and parent volunteers will be available to answer questions and help students develop their ideas and projects.
Important dates
• March 9 – March 27: Project registration
• By March 25: Project boards available for pickup
• April 8: Science & Engineering Fair (5:30–7:30 PM)
Our goal is to celebrate curiosity, creativity, and learning, and we hope to see many Edison scientists and engineers participate!
If you have questions, please contact anyone on the STEAM committee or Ms. Navarro.
We look forward to seeing the amazing ideas our students bring to life.
Warmly,
Edison PTA STEAM Committee
