Virtual Food Bank Drive 5/23-6/3
Mon, May 23

The virtual food drive will be open from Monday, May 23 to Friday, June 3.

Every year the 5th grade classes work to leave a legacy at Edison for the school community they are leaving behind.  Since 2017, this legacy project has been about how we can serve and strengthen our communities through community service, and the Edison 5th graders have focused on supporting local food banks to help with food insecurity.  In past years, Edison Otters have volunteered at the Alameda County Community Food Bank warehouse and raised money to help the food banks get food to those in need.  While we can’t volunteer in-person as a group this year, we can raise money and awareness about how important it is for everyone to have access to enough food through a virtual food drive.

The 5th graders will be researching food insecurity and the needs in our communities and how food banks can support those in need, and with this information, they will advertise the virtual food drive to our Edison community.  Please consider supporting our 5th grade Otters and the Alameda County Community Food Bank by donating!
