Volunteers Needed for K–2 Science Fair Projects (April 8)
Wed, Mar 11 7:44pm

Hi Edison Parents,

The STEAM Committee is excited to plan our upcoming Science & Engineering Fair, tentatively on Wednesday, April 8!

This year, we’re hoping for a little extra parent help to support Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade teachers with their classroom science projects in the weeks leading up to the fair. We’d like to gauge early parent interest for helping with this. If you’re able to help, please fill this out ASAP!

A little more detail:

Given the number of classrooms for K-2, we may have up to 9 class projects, and volunteer support will determine how many classrooms can participate.

What volunteers help with (no science background needed!):

  • Prepping simple materials

  • Helping during the in-class experiment/activity

  • Quick clean-up

  • Assisting with a project poster if needed

Time commitment: about 3 hours total (prep + classroom help + poster), spread out over a couple of days.

Age-appropriate projects may include activities like: sink-or-float experiments, ramps and rolling cars, magnet tests, or building a paper bridge.

Thank you for supporting hands-on STEAM learning at Edison. We really appreciate it!

Warmly,

The Edison STEAM Committee
