Many Edison volunteer opportunities require that you have completed LiveScan (which processes your fingerprints and background check.) Examples include being a garden or art docent for your student's classroom, volunteering regularly in class, helping with Kindergarten motor fitness, and being a field trip driver (e.g., occasions when you are with students but not directly supervised by teachers or administrators.) Note- if you will only be in the class once or twice this year and with a teacher/staff, you will not need this service.

As a convenience for parents, we've arranged for Alameda Island Notary to Edison on Friday, October 21st from 7:45-9:45AM to process your Livescan. Livescan is valid for the duration you are in AUSD.  If you are interested, please sign up for a 15-min appointment slot and make sure that you have the following items when you arrive at the front office:

1. Completed Volunteer Agreement form (valid for the entire school year)
2. Current drivers license, state ID, or passport
3. Cash, check, Venmo, or Cash App for $74 (PTA can reimburse up to 12 individuals for this fee if it presents a financial hardship using this reimbursement form.) They can also accept credit cards, but additional fees will apply.

Please submit completed forms to Nicci Woodward at the front office by 10/31. 

Note- You will also need a TB test to complete requirements for weekly in-class volunteering, motor fitness, or garden/art docent.  If you are having difficulty getting your TB Assessment filled out, here is a link to a list of low/no-cost providers in Alameda County. If you are not able to sign-up, please come on Friday 10/21 with everything listed above and she will take a few last minute walk-ups if she can fit any between appointments or in case there are last minute cancellations.  A waitlist will also be added once slots are completely filled.
