We cannot put on this production without our amazing volunteers!
Here is a list of the anticipated responsibilities of each sub-committee:
Costume: Help our performers look the part! Miss Chelsea has a costume lead that will be organizing the costume plan and leading the sourcing. Volunteers will assist with fitting, sourcing, and organizing costumes before the show, as well as making simple alterations or repairs (hemming, sewing buttons). This group will also help organize the plan for the clothing / footwear the actors will need to bring from home. On dress rehearsal and show days, committee volunteers work backstage to help actors with quick costume changes, keep garments organized, and manage stage makeup or hair prep.
Set / Props: Bring the world of the play to life on stage! Set volunteers will support the Rhode to Boradway staff with sourcing specific set pieces, minila building / assembly will be needed. Props volunteers help source, craft, and organize stage items, setting up backstage prop tables and ensuring everything is returned safely between scenes.
Rehearsal Volunteers / Backstage support: Keep rehearsals and performances running smoothly behind the scenes! During rehearsals, volunteers help supervise students, manage snack/water breaks, and assist the director. On show days, backstage crew members help keep actors quiet and organized in the wings, guide performers to their entrances on time, and assist student stage managers with scene shifts.
NOTE for anyone planning to support backstage please plan to attend as many rehearsals as you can so you are familiar with the show and cues.
Program: Design and create our playbill! Volunteers in this role gather cast and crew bios/photos, design the layout of the program, organize shout-outs or sponsor ads, and prepare the final file for printing. This is a flexible role that can be completed mostly from home before tech week.
Merch & Marketing: Help our actors and volunteers feel the Lion King Spirit! Spread the word and build school spirit! Marketing volunteers help design and distribute posters, liaise with the Odeum staff to discuss promotion opportunities, design show merchandise for the cast and crew, and plan the post-show cast party. This team will also source gifts for the director, crew, and volunteers.
Social Media: Build excitement for our production online! We need people to keep our FB and Instagram pages active, including posting pictures and videos from rehearsal, posting rehearsal reminders, and hyping up our community.
