Hello Escondido,

We are very excited to host a number of special events to celebrate Black History Month and share some amazing cultural experiences with our school!  Notes that all events will take place in the MP room

On February 19th, author and illustrator  Arree Chung will be reading to our students.  If you haven't heard about Mixed yet, it is a story about diversity, inclusion and love and provides a great way to start the dialogue about race with kids of all ages.  The first reading for grades K-2 will be 8:30 - 9 and the second reading for grades 3 - 5 will be 9 - 9:30.   Below are links that provide some background and materials relevant to his presentation.
