Book Fair & Family Reading Night
Sun, Mar 1 6:33pm

Get ready… get set… READ!

The Escondido Book Fair is back and filled with stacks of the best picture books, chapter books, nonfiction, graphic novels, books in español, and more. (There’s even adult fiction and nonfiction for parents!) Presented by local children’s bookstore Linden Tree Books in Los Altos, a portion of all sales will go to Escondido PTA.

The Book Fair is open before and after school all this week in the MP Room. It will also be open to students during lunch recess.

As part of this year’s fair, we are hosting Family Reading Night on Wednesday, March 4th from 6pm to 8pm. Escondido librarian Nina Bailey and Escondido principal Dr. Marcela will be hosting storytime with their favorite read-alouds so kids can chill out while parents browse the fair. Cookies and milk will be served. Pajamas encouraged!

This year, you can buy your teacher a gift card to spend on books for their classroom. Gift cards can be purchased at the fair or online. Similarly, if you want to give your child money to spend at the fair, but not cash, you can give them a gift card to use. Again, these can be purchased at the fair or online here:

Gift cards never expire and, after the fair, unused amounts can be used at Linden Tree Books in Los Altos.

At the fair, students can vote in the Tournament of Books for their favorite books released in the past year. Also, the “How Many Pages?” contest returns! Students can guess how many pages are in our stack of books and one winner in each grade level will get a $10 gift card.

So come visit the Book Fair and Family Reading Night this week. You can pick up some great books for the family AND support Escondido PTA at the same time!
