Escondido Walk and Roll
Please mark your calendars for March 18-22, when we encourage students to walk, bike, scoot, skateboard, carpool, or take the bus to school. If you must drive solo in a car, students can participate by parking a few blocks from school and walking the rest of the way in.
The goal of the week is to reduce the number of students arriving solo by car, thus easing congestion around schools and lessening greenhouse gas emissions. Active commutes, carpooling, taking transit, or riding the school bus can also enhance community and be fun!
Activities throughout the week will include:
- Monday, March 18 – bike and scooter decorating at the main bike rack. We will also be mapping our “bike-/walk-shed”, with the students biking and walking the furthest winning a prize.
- Wednesday, March 20 – raffle and hand stamps in front of the MP Room. Prizes include Bike Palo Alto backpacks and bike lights.
- Friday, March 22 – breakfast in front of the MP Room from 7:45-8:10am
In addition to walking and rolling to school all week, we would appreciate some volunteers to assist day-of, and/or contribute food items for the breakfast on Friday morning.
Volunteers Needed - Please sign-up: https://www.konstella.com/app/school/55aed367e4b06e5080d5d82b/signups/5c78d06fe4b0f1553bf8fc7b
