Green Tip! Waste-free Holidays

Consider gifting experiences and consumables like food, soap, and candles. Wrap them up with last year's wrapping paper and ribbon, garlands and boxes. Use materials with recycled content, newspaper, magazines, or ribbon pulled from old videos. Decorate the tree with biodegradable alternatives like popcorn garlands, cotton twine, raffia, pinecones and found or edible objects. Plan waste-free holiday meals with reusable dishes, cloth napkins, plant-based local and organic foods, and serving containers with their own lids. More tips from Zero Waste Palo Alto:  Finally, have a safe and joyous Winter Break!
