We are very excited to host a number of special events to celebrate Black History Month with the Escondido community!  All events will take place in the MP Room from 8:30 - 9:50am.  

 

  • On February 11th, we will be hosting a performance by the Orki Theater dance troupeThis cast of highly skilled and talented dancers, drummers, storytellers and singers will introduce us to African music and dance through sequential, interactive and hands-on activities.
  • On February 19thObrayan Calderon will be performing.  Check out this video to see the amazing Cuban music we will get to hear. 
  • On February 27thRegina Wallace-Jones, Mayor of East Palo Alto, will be coming to speak to our community.  Read more about her path here.
  • On March 3rd, we will welcome a talented group of African American athletes from Stanford who will share what it's like being a student athlete and key points their journey.

Unfortunately due to space limitations of the multi-purpose room we are unable to accommodate beyond current Escondido students and teachers.

**NEW**The Bond Citizens Oversight Committee (COC) 

The COC is a seven-member group that meets four times a year to review our two Strong School Bond programs.  By statue, the group members have term limits and so we regularly seek replacement members.  Questions? Contact Bob Golton rgolton@pausd.org for application and more.  Note the COC is different than then Board Bond Advisory Committee (BBAC) being advertised below.  Although both committees concern the bond measure, COC meets 4 times a year. BBAC meets monthly.

The 2020 Gunn Choir Staff Musical Extravaganza: Heavenly Bandstand!  A Fifties Musical Valentine 

Tue-Wed, Feb 11-12, 8 PM, Spangenberg Theatre 

High school senior and heroine, Annette, is visited by Johnny Angel in a dream.  He is desperate to return to earth and make it to the Top Forty. In order to do that, however, he must compete on Heavenly Bandstand against many famous 1950s rivals, including Elvis.  Starring the amazing Gunn Choirs and dozens of your favorite Gunn staff!  Tickets, $10 for students and $20 for adults, at the Gunn Student Activities Center (SAC) or online at gunnchoir.org.  All proceeds will support the Gunn Choir Scholarship Fund.

Paly Robotics Summer Camp 2020 Sign Ups Going on Now  

Jul 20 - Jul 24 and Jul 27 - Jul 31, 9A-3P at the Palo Alto High School Robotics Lab

Registration will open on January 20 at 12 PM.  

Sessions: Robot Design & Hardware, Programming, Entrepreneurship & Website Design, Animation & Graphic Design.  

This year, Paly Robotics will be offering two weeks of our annual summer camp for middle school students (incoming 6th - 9th graders).  Paly Robotics hopes to spark interest and start future high school students on a path in science, technology, engineering, art or mathematics (STEAM).  Campers will be able to sign up for one of four sessions per week.
